Founder's History.
With over 20 years of experience working with youth and more than a decade dedicated to recycling textiles and empowering women, the journey to founding our company has been a deeply personal and purposeful one.
My passion for environmental sustainability and social change was amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when the need to make a meaningful impact became more urgent.
At the end of 2022, I decided to turn this passion into action by starting my own business. Initially, my focus was on recycling textiles, plastic, wood, and metal. However, through extensive research, I discovered the alarming situation regarding car tires in Kosovo and saw an opportunity to address this environmental issue creatively. The idea of building furniture from old materials, including car tires, began to take shape.
As I delved deeper into the industry, I realized how underrepresented women are, particularly in roles as builders and leaders within the circular economy. This realization fueled my determination to create a company that not only champions environmental sustainability but also promotes gender equality in the furniture industry.
Throughout this journey, I have been fortunate to have the unwavering support of my husband and father. Their encouragement and belief in the importance of protecting the environment and advancing gender equality have been invaluable. Together, we are committed to making a difference, working towards a future where everyone contributes to the greater good.
Our First Creation:
A Journey from Vision to Reality.
It all started with a simple yet powerful idea: to turn what was considered waste into something beautiful and functional. With over a decade of experience in recycling textiles and empowering women, and after working with youth for over 20 years, I was deeply motivated by the need to make a lasting impact on both the environment and the lives of others. This passion led me to start my own business at the end of 2022.
The inspiration for our first product struck me unexpectedly during my research. I discovered the alarming issue of discarded car tires piling up in Kosovo, a problem that seemed both overwhelming and under-addressed. As I stared at the heaps of rubber, an idea began to take shape—what if we could transform these tires into something entirely new, something that people would love to have in their homes?
However, I quickly realized that I lacked the technical skills needed to bring this idea to life. I had never worked with drills or cutting machines before, and the prospect of learning how to use them was daunting. But I was determined. My father and husband stepped in, patiently teaching me how to handle the tools and guiding me through the process. Their support was invaluable, not just in helping me build the first product, but in empowering me with the skills I needed to succeed and share with others.
The process of building that first product—a seat made from old car tires and old wood—was both exhilarating and challenging. We experimented with different techniques, faced numerous setbacks, and spent countless hours refining the design. But finally, after weeks of hard work, the seat was complete. Seeing it in front of me, I felt a surge of pride and accomplishment. This was more than just a seat; it was a symbol of what could be achieved with determination, creativity, and collaboration.
The success of that first product fueled our passion to continue exploring new possibilities. The second product we created was a table, and from there, we began experimenting with other types of seats. These seats, made especially from old car tires and wood, have since become our flagship products, representing our commitment to sustainability and innovation.
What began as a personal journey of learning and discovery has now evolved into a mission to empower other women. The skills I gained through the support of my father and husband are now being shared with women who want to join our company and make their mark in the furniture industry. Together, we are building a future where creativity and sustainability go hand in hand, and where every piece of furniture tells a story of transformation and empowerment.
And so, our journey continues, fueled by the lessons learned from that first creation and the excitement for what lies ahead. The future is bright, and I can’t wait to see where this path leads us next.
